Our exclusive position enables us to do reverse engineering to verify that the product meets the stated nameplate data and then create a forward design to produce the same product or improve it.

Repair, Rewind and Remanufacturing

Our transformer services include many possible processes. These include transformer repairs, rewind, remanufacture and recondition. We can perform theses services on almost every kind of transformer in production today. We have services for a rectifier transformer, substation transformer, network transformer, furnace transformer, train transformer or precipitator transformer; whether it is an oil-filled, dry-type shell form or core-form transformer. Services for units with specifications of 100KVA-25,000KVA (base rating), ≤69KV on circular layer, circular helical, rectangular layer, shell form and circular disc designs are available.We can also perform unit substation, mobile substations, distribution, padmount, and voltage regulator maintenance.

Field Repair Services

In addition to our extensive transformer repair and rewind services, we also provide Field Refurbishment services such as valves, regasketing, fans, coolers, wiring and accessories replacement, pump rebuild and replacement, painting, and controls. We also offer Turnkey Replacement services like installation and commissioning, and transformer relocation and assembly as well as Bushing Replacement services. We can also offer Load Tap Change (LTC) Inspection and Maintenance, Electrical Testing and Mechanical Services to our clients. Fluid Services such as oil dehydration, oil degasification, oil reclamation, vacuum dry-out and vacuum filling are also available. We also have Internal Inspection and Repair services like lead repair, no load tap changer (NLTC) repair and re-blocking.

Oil Testing Services

We also offer oil testing services for in-service insulating liquid, solid insulation testing, and also services for sampling, network transformers, interpretation and recommendations as well as dissolved gas analysis (DGA) on oil screen/liquid screen (OS/LS), Karl Fischer Moisture (KF), Liquid Power Factor (PF), inhibitor, dissolved metals (ICP), Furan, Polychlorinated Biphenyls (PCB) and Degree of Polymerization.

• On April 5, 2012, Magnetech issued a press release (link this to the release on our News page) announcing the planned relocation of the Huntington, WV service center to a new location within Huntington. The story was picked up by the newswires, and thus, the story has been published in various print and online financial and industry publications. Most recently the May issue of Electrical Apparatus magazine published a shortened news brief version of the announcement. Unfortunately, the wording in their news brief leads the reader to believe our Massillon, OH operations are being moved to Huntington, WV. Since then, our Massillon offices have been flooded with inquiries from both customers and vendors wanting to know if our Massillon operations are, in fact, being moved. THE MASSILLON SHOP IS NOT MOVING! The Massillon facility is key to the future of Magnetech and remains focused on providing quality repair and maintenance services for all your equipment from the transformer to the driven component.
